The Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) revealed that the incident that ensnared IPB (Bandung Agricultural Institute) students and the community around the campus was a mode of fraud carried out under the guise of offering business cooperation in online sales at the perpetrator's online shop with a commission of 10 percent per transaction. Head of the Investment Alert Task Force (SWI), Tongam L. Tobing, explained that his party had met IPB leaders and a number of students who were victims on Thursday (17/11) and obtained information regarding the mode of fraud.[1]
According to Tongam, the perpetrator asked students to buy goods at the perpetrator's online store. If students don't have money, then the perpetrator asks students to borrow online. The money from the loan goes to the perpetrator, but the goods are not handed over to the buyer, or the purchase is fictitious from the perpetrator's online store. The perpetrator promised to pay the loan installments from the lender, so that students were interested in investing. In its development, the perpetrator did not fulfill his promise to pay the debt repayments, so the collection staff collected the students as borrowers. "This case is not a loan problem, but fraud under the guise of an online shop by financing the purchase of goods which turned out to be fictitious, but the money flowed to the perpetrators," said Tongam.[2]
The Investment Alert Task Force is pushing for a law enforcement process against the perpetrators of this fraud and has coordinated with the Bogor Police and the IPB Rectorate to handle this case. "We will socialize illegal investments to avoid other victims and convey efforts that can be made to help students who are victims of this fraud," said Tongam. The public is asked to be wary of illegitimate investment offers and illogical returns.[3] And if you have any legal issue in Indonesia territory, contact us then, feel free in 24 hour, we will be happy to assist you.
