The Central Java Regional Police revealed a number of new facts related to the serial murder victim of a money-making shaman in Banjarnegara. One of them is Paryanto's last message, a victim from Sukabumi, to his son. The Central Java Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Ahmad Luthfi said Pariyanto, the victim of the serial murder of a money-making shaman in Banjarnegara, Slamet Tohari, had sent messages via the WhatsApp application to his son before being killed. In the message, Pariyanto asked his family to pick him up at Tohari's house, if he was caught not returning home.[1]

"Initially the disclosure of this case was a report by Gridas, the son of the first victim, Pariyanto. Reported that his father was missing, then reported in Banjarnegara followed up by an examination of the Banjarnegara Criminal Investigation Office that it was true that Tohari, who was a shaman, admitted that at that time he had killed Pariyanto's brother, " said Inspector General of Police Ahmad Luthfi, Wednesday (5/4/2023). "So on Pariyanto's cellphone, WA was found before being killed, the sound of which read at Mr. Slamet Tohari's house. He said if there was anything, on Sunday Father did not return, please look for me with the authorities at Mr. Slamet Tohari's house. This is the entrance to uncover the murder that was committed brother Tohari," added Ahmad Luthfi.[2]

According to the Kapolda (Regional Police Chief), the message was also the main starting point for the investigation into the serial killings. After receiving the evidence, the Police interrogated Tohari, who initially admitted to having committed the murders 5 times. Then, on Monday (3/4/2023) the Police interrogated Slamet Tohari. At that time he admitted to having killed 5 people, whose crime scenes were the same, on Jalan Setapak in Gulem Hamlet, Banjarnegara. "Admitted 5, after dismantling we found 9 bodies. Finally we dismantled again, there were 2 to 12," said Ahmad Luthfi. However, when a search was carried out at the TKP (Crime scene) in Balun village, Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara, 10 bodies were found, and then 2 victims, bringing the total to 12 victims.[3]

From the results of the research by the Central Java Police team it was also known that the age range of the victims ranged from 25 to 50 years. The cause of death was non-violent suffocation from poison, with an estimated time of death of six to 24 months.
