California Governor Gavin Newsom has filed a lawsuit challenging a series of tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. This is because the state's industry has been affected by the tariff wars that other countries have started after Trump's decision. Newsom, who is known to be a political rival of Trump, considers Trump's maneuver a suicide move. He asked Trump to withdraw the tariffs.[1]

Newsom later said Trump’s economic mismanagement has hurt everyday Americans, including many Trump voters, and called the maneuvers costly and cost the Republican president billionaire donors and friends.
